Origin
Passionflower is frequently found in the south of the United States and Mexico, it originated in Brazil and Peru and has been used in pharmacopoeia since the 16th century. Its name is a reference to the passion of Christ as its flower resembles a crown of thorns.
Description
It is a climbing plant, clambering up to 10 metres in length, its spectacular fragrant flowers measure up to 6 cm in diameter.
The above-ground parts are used in phytotherapy, they naturally contain flavonoids.
