Flax fibres were used as far back as 10,000 years B.C. in Turkey. Ancient Rome medicine recommended the plant in the treatment of constipation, carbunkles and dry skin.
Description
Widespread in Europe, flax is a herbaceous plant that can grow up to 1 metre in height. The fruit is divided into 10 cells containing 1 oily seed.
The seeds are used in phytotherapy. They naturally contain lignans.
